Some would say god teaches us how to love by putting us in situations that are unloving so we have to learn how to love.
This is not my experience.
In my experience, God teaches me love by loving me first, by placing loving people around me. Its my choice to receive or deny that love.
Love begets love.
When I acknowledge, receive, and reciprocate the love God gives so generously, I am also able to graciously give it away. I do not have to hoard it, manipulate it, or determine who deserves it.
I become the essence of love and a source of love for others to draw from that points to God’s ultimate love toward us.
The God of eternal love and light. It is through this love we are able to love those who are unloving and difficult to love. This love also helps us create healthy boundaries that is crucial for building healthier relationships with unloving and difficult people. And through this love, perhaps one day, these unloving and difficult people may see how very much they are loved and cherished. That they are capable of love, deserving of love, and worthy of love.
Shalom!
