Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out.

Colossians 4:6 MSG

Contemplative seeing and listening has helped me learn how to bring the best out in others. It has also helped me learn how to bring the best out in myself. It is hard at times to receive a compliment because I am more aware of my flaws. So when someone says something nice, I say, “Yeah, but…”

Thank you is all that is needed in these times. There is so much God wants to bring out of me. This feels like grace.
