God knows us. God knows us better than we know ourselves. We do have a bent toward evil, but we also have the ability to connect with the Divine in real, tangible ways. I can stay focused on weeding the evil from my life, or I can connect with the Divine in ways that generate life in every part of my being.
Connecting with the Divine is what frees me from my bent toward evil. My heart, my thoughts, and my actions slowly become pure, good, right, and honest. This is not just a one-time connection. It is connecting again and again, allowing the flood waters of God’s grace to purify me, to wash me, and to heal my brokenness all over again.
