Promised Treasures:Daily Devotions
I’m broken and sad.
I’m angry.
I’m anxious.
My heart aches.
I understand, and my heart softens – a little.
I remember the dread, the conflict, the double standard.
I knew it was over, yet I kept going, trying to revive and sustain it.
It was a waste of time. God didn’t judge me for it. God simply knew I needed to keep trying.
I needed to know I had nothing left to give.
I needed to know I was enough, and what I had given was enough.
Yet as I kept trying, other parts suffered.
When it was finally over, it was time to mend the other neglected parts.
This was hard. It was harder than trying to sustain and revive.
These were the parts that brought me back to my Self.
God met me more than halfway, he freed me from my anxious fears… Never hide your feelings from him. When I was desperate, I called out, and God got me out of a tight spot.
Psalm 34:4-6 MSG
Is anyone crying for help? God is listening, ready to rescue you. If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.
Psalm 34:17-18 MSG
