Holy (Maunday) Thursday

‭This is the testimony in essence: God gave us eternal life; the life is in his Son. So, whoever has the Son, has life; whoever rejects the Son, rejects life.

1 John 5:11-12 MSG

Christ came for all.

Some accepts this Christ.

Others rejects this Christ.

Some experience life.

Others reject life.

What does this all mean?

I really don’t know.

I believe that it’s harder to live than it is to die. We are dying daily. There’s no doubt that we will all die one day. 10 out of 10 people die. Those statistics don’t lie.

On this Maunday Thursday,  when I think about the elements of water, blood, and the Spirit, I am reminded of the cross and what Jesus went through to give us life, eternal life. Just how water and blood sustains our life, the Spirit also sustains us. The Spirit stirs the deeper parts of us calling forth life in each of us.

When this happens, we can choose to open to God’s work or remain closed. Either way, the Spirit still works.

When you open to God’s stirring, you get to participate and witness what is happening in you and the world around you.

When you close yourself off to the work of God,  you close yourself off to experiencing the life-giving work of the Spirit.  You become blind to the work of God all around, and your heart can harden. Still, this hardened heart isn’t a challenge for God, but it does close you off to other life giving relationships and encounters.

Still, God works. God works in the shadows, just as well as he does in the light. The Spirit is always calling us forth to witness and participate in the life-giving work of the Spirit.

Want to accept Christ today? Want to choose life? Want to become a witness and a participant in the work of Christ?

Life begets life! When you choose life,  watch what else comes to life! You may just be surprised.❤️
