The Spirituality of Children has always been near and dear to my heart. As I continue to mature in my own spirituality, my love for children and their spirituality grows even more.
I am a witness to my own spirituality and fortunate to sit with others as they journey back to retell their spiritual journey. How we all came to this place in life is a great mystery to me. An even greater mystery is what is unfolding and what will unfold before us.
I was fortunate to be a part of the first “Online” Godly Play Core Training Group. This training exceeded my expectations and has created a familiar stirring within. I don’t know where this training will lead. Perhaps it’s another step on my journey, but today, I am grateful for all those who have made this online training possible.
Thank you, Circle of We. The scholarship you provided made it possible for me to participate and experience something transforming.
Thank you, Cynthia and Mary Hunter. Your passion for the spirituality of a child is evident in your teaching. You both call out the child in me who wants to get lost in her work!
As I begin to post this, it is with great sadness that I learn the founder of Godly Play, Rev. Dr. Jerome Berryman has passed away. His work with Godly Play and the Center for the Theology of Childhood will continue to inspire others for years to come.
The Rev. Dr. Cheryl Minor, Director of the Center for the Theology of Childhood, shares, “In Godly Play, we often talk about endings that are also beginnings. May it be so for Jerome and for us as we both grieve and carry on his work in the world.”
