What is Spiritual Direction?

Great question! It can be defined in many different ways. Today, I would say it is practicing the presence of God.

In spiritual direction, one looks to discern where God is at work in one’s own life. One may seek to know how God may be moving them forward or backward in the present moment.  One may also seek the stillness and silence that spiritual direction offers.

Spiritual direction is a spiritual discipline where spirit connects to spirit, deep connects to deep.  It can be a place of peace, not where there is an absence of conflict but where peace is the reality that exists when heaven and earth “connect.” This takes practice.
