“Lectio Divina” is a Latin phrase that means “divine reading.” It is a way to read Scripture that allows us to set aside our own ideas and open ourselves to what God wants to tell us.
Lectio Divina is different from a Bible study where someone leads discussions or shares opinions. It’s also not a support group, though encountering God and others can be uplifting. Instead, Lectio is a meditation experience that helps you connect a word or phrase from Scripture to your own life.
Silence plays an important role in our time together. It gives us space to meet God between each step of Lectio. The four steps in Lectio Divina are:
✨️Read (Lectio)
✨️Reflect/Meditate (Meditatio)
✨️Respond/Pray (Oratio)
✨️Rest/Contemplate (Contemplatio)
